Just in time for the holidays, participants will create a beach ball-size orb using the random weave technique. The orb looks charming, studded with fairy lights or nested on an outdoor arrangement of evergreens. This easy project is a good introduction to willow work.

About the instructor:

Mary Kopecky has been a volunteer at ICNC for 30+ years and was also an Artist in Residence for two years at Indian Creek Nature Center teaching willow basketry and garden art. She is a former board president and an active member of ICNC's Friends Group helping with signature events. She has also created many large willow structures at the Amazing Space play area for children to explore and has continued teaching willow-making classes ever since.

Materials: Please bring lunch, beverages, sharp hand pruners or basket shears.
